Lace Piping

There are some things that just take hours of practice and I think piping is one of them.

A cake of many firsts!

I recieved the order for this cake 2 months ago and have been busting to create it since!

What a fabulous design for a 21st Birthday Cake.
This cake was quite a challange for me as it is my first "madhatter" style cake and first time covering an entire tier in black fondant.
Favourite part of creating this cake would have to be handpainting the leopard print!

Suitcase Bag

2 Tier cake with suitcase and handbag. Will serve around 60.
Handpainted leopard "print" and all gold details are handpainted.

It was surprising how long the details in this cake took! The first day
(5hours) was spent cutting, ganaching, covering the two cakes and creating
the flower.
The second day (5 hours) was spent Stacking and detailing the cake. Adding
the lid, painting the leopard adding all the suitcase details and all the
handbag details.
A very fun cake to create, I cant wait to create a suitcase cake with travel
stickers on it!

Love Birds cake topper

Attended a fantastic Faye Cahill course today and created this love birds cake topper.

Learnt heaps about carving foam and some painting techniques for the birds!
I think my next few cakes could be adorned with Birds!

Gumpaste roses

I have been busy this week creating gumpaste sugar roses for a dummy cake.

Practice, practice, practice!
I need a lot more for the cake I want to do so I need to get cracking!

Breast Cancer Foundation Cake!

I made this cake last weekend at PlanetCake 104.
The cake is a 12" 9" and 6" Rounds with Sugar orchids.
Being such a large cake without a real "purpose" I decided to cut the cake up and take it to work and for a gold coin donation people can get a piece of cake and all the money will go to the Breast Cancer Foundation!

Murtle the Turtle!

This week I decided to challenge myself a little with a 3d Sculpted cake...

I discovered many new things with this cake!
1. Ganache is Amazing compared to buttercream! haha I shall not use buttercream again in a hurry and anything sculpted will definitly have ganache!
2. Scales are time consuming!!!

Hand-made Cookies!

Just some super quick cookies I baked and decorated today, wanted to use my new hand cookie cutter!

Spartan Teddy Style!

An engagement cake I made for two close friends for there engagement party this weekend.
Teddy figurines were handmade by me and are completely edible!
Cake white chocolate "rainbow" mud cake with a pink/white marbled fondant.

Moulds, cake and friends!

So I got some Moulding material this week Arghh! So exciting!
The possibilities are endless! I cracked it open as soon as I received it and started scouting around for things to mould.
Nozzles, Awesome! Tiny Starfish, Awesome!
It super great because it only take an hour for the mould to set and you can start using them.

Made these cupcakes for a BBQ with some friends and decided to do little spraycan cuppies, cute! They could have been a bit more detailed but with only a night to do them I had to settle for simple. =)

Decided to make these last minute so they can try the rainbow cake hehe and because I needed an excuse to make cupcakes.... oh wait! who am I kidding no one ever needs an excuse for cupcakes!

Snow meets the Beach!

An interesting cake I made for my nephew's 5th Birthday this week. He wanted a strawberry snowmobile/Beach quad bike cake.
The quad bike was a little toy my sister provided but I didnt get any photos with it on.
I decided to try out a spiral cake with a little ramp going all the way up around the cake.
Strawberry filling with a white chocolate ganache, Royal icing snow and biscuit beach base.

Logo Time!

Decided I need a logo to start using on invoices, cards and such so my wonderful fiance designed me one! I am terrible at designing things for myself too picky!

So he created me a few different versions so I can use them on different formats!
