This cake I have been really excited to do for a long time!! The dreaded extended tier.
It looks like 2 "tiers" but inside the bottom tier are 3 cakes and the top tier has 2 cakes in it. The cake weighs around 17kgs and feeds 200 Coffee sized portions. I decided to use my new cymbidium orchids and throw in a few sugar hibiscus I made, some bamboo and Aloha!!
Thought I'd share a quick shot of the cake before it becomes pretty.... Whoa thats a lot of chocolate ganache!
Another busy week on the cake front all I can say is it's lucky I LOVE doing flowers so much otherwise I might be a little crazy after all the hours this one took!
Completed this wedding cake this week a blue stargazer 3 tier cake. Rainbow Flavoured Cake with White chocolate ganache. The stargazer lillies are finished with Swarovski Crystal Stamens for extra sparkle!

What a fabulous design for a 21st Birthday Cake. This cake was quite a challange for me as it is my first "madhatter" style cake and first time covering an entire tier in black fondant. Favourite part of creating this cake would have to be handpainting the leopard print!
2 Tier cake with suitcase and handbag. Will serve around 60. Handpainted leopard "print" and all gold details are handpainted.
It was surprising how long the details in this cake took! The first day (5hours) was spent cutting, ganaching, covering the two cakes and creating the flower. The second day (5 hours) was spent Stacking and detailing the cake. Adding the lid, painting the leopard adding all the suitcase details and all the handbag details. A very fun cake to create, I cant wait to create a suitcase cake with travel stickers on it!
