Domokitty!

This week I got the opportunity to be a bridesmaid and create the wedding cake for my amazing friends Karen and Stan :)

The toppers are Domo-kun and the female is a Hello Kitty inspired Domo-kun.
2 Tier white squares with a pearl handpainted finish fill with White Chocolate "Rainbow" cake!

Coca-cola Can!

Last week I created a coca-cola can cake for a fellow colleague leaving work, needless to say he consumes his fair share of coke :)

Fun cake to create! Adjusted the nutritional information panel with a few jokes for him.

Ron Ben-Israel Course

This last week I got to meet my cake idol and inspiration wedding cake master Ron Ben-Israel!

He taught in Minette Rushing's Custom Cake shop in Savannah, GA, USA.
I completed his Sugar flower course - Signature flowers.

The whole experience was amazing and I learnt so many new techniques and tricks.
Everyone was so friendly, met some fantastic new friends and Minette was a lovely host.

The summer heat is not being much fun to work in at the moment, humidity is not my cakes friend.

Camera Cake

A last minute cake order this week.
I am definitly no novelty cake expert! Much prefer my wedding cakes but this was lots fun to do!

Tropical Wedding Cake

This cake I have been really excited to do for a long time!! The dreaded extended tier.

It looks like 2 "tiers" but inside the bottom tier are 3 cakes and the top tier has 2 cakes in it.
The cake weighs around 17kgs and feeds 200 Coffee sized portions.
I decided to use my new cymbidium orchids and throw in a few sugar hibiscus I made, some bamboo and Aloha!!

Thought I'd share a quick shot of the cake before it becomes pretty.... Whoa thats a lot of chocolate ganache!

Persian inspired cake.

Created this two tier wedding cake this week at PC105.

Something a little bit different with the colours but I think its really fun and dramatic.
The cake is offset with a handpainted gold peony.

The top will be adorned with a mermaid barbie for the special girl!

Stargazer Wedding!

Completed this wedding cake this week a blue stargazer 3 tier cake.
Rainbow Flavoured Cake with White chocolate ganache.
The stargazer lillies are finished with Swarovski Crystal Stamens for extra sparkle!
